Road of Pico Alto locality. To the left we see the entry for the secondary road that leads to the house. |
|
|
Secondary road where one can see the gate and respective ramp that gives access to the house. The fence is made with urze stick, a very traditional type of fence in the island. |
|
| Front view of the cottate, where some wood to be used in the fireplace is visible. | |
| The house again, in winter time, where some times the fog appears. |
| Beggining of the Levada of Ribeira da Janela that starts in Lamaceiros locality, wich it's 10 minutes away from the house. |

| Levadas cross the island's hillsides, being an interminable succession of curves that cross with streams that flow to the sea... |

| ... and simply dazzling sights. The stream Ribeira da Janela is visible. At the bottom, close to the sea, a small bridge of stone can be seen. |

Photos of a nearby locality:
| During the summer there are a lot of traditional arraiais (open-air popular festivals with fireworks, dances and songs) in all the island's localities. It's the case of Lamaceiros locality. In these arraiais the local bands are always present and play in the bandstand as visible in this photo. |

| In all the arraiais the decoration is very similar to the one in this picture. It's made always in the surrounding area of the church. This is the locality where we can find the beginning of the Levada described above. |

| Here we see the church's inside, wich is decorated for the occasion. Almost always the arraial is in honor of a Saint. |
